The Tourist Club “Tontio” was founded in 1984. The basic directions of “Tontio” Club is popularization of mountaineering and alpinism as well as the maintenance of ecologically clean environment. For this very purposes “Tontio” arranges summer schools for pupils, tours, camping and rock ice climbing competitions, eco tours. The average number of persons having been rendered “Tontio’s” assistance is approximately 700-800 per year. The Club is experienced in working with the foreign tourists. The qualified and experienced guides and interpreters are at your service. The Club gives the wonderful chance to spend your holiday in Georgia’s most beautiful gorges, ravines, mountains and valleys. The Club also provides excursions to the ancient UNESCO ’s lists of World’s Historical Heritage.
Club “Tontio” has a rich experience working with foreign tourists, and during its existence has hosted French, British, Dutch, German, Irish, US, Russian, Czech and other tourists.
At the same time on the base of the Club the NGO is established that works with the international funds and organizations on the education issues and the social problems of children and youth, namely ADRA, “Public Assistance of France” (SPF), The International Rescue Committee (IRC), Mercy Corps, Horizonti Foundation and others.
